Spurs beat the
Cavaliers to win the NBA Championship
The San Antonio Spurs captured
their 4th NBA title in nine years winning Game 4 last night
83-82 over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The outcome of the first NBA final for LeBron James did not turn
out the way he imagined and he walked out of the home court
without turning around, while the Spurs celebrated their 4th NBA
Championship victory after 1999, 2003 and 2005. With the win,
the San Antonio Spurs joined Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and
the Los Angeles Lakers as the only NBA teams to win the title
four times.
Tony Parker wrapped himself with the
French flag and got the MVP award after scoring 24 points, while
Tim Duncan was recording this precious moment with a camcorder.
This made Tony Parker the first European player to win the
Finals MVP in the history of NBA.
No team has ever recovered in the finals
from 3-0, but the Cavaliers did not give up till the last
second, leading in the mid of the 4th 63-60. But Manu Ginóbili
cooled down their enthusiasm helping to turn the game 69-66 with
a little over 4 minutes left scoring 13 of his 27 game points in
the fourth.
LeBron James finished with 24 points and
commented: "I've got a lot of things to work on to get better
for next year. Once I get better, our team will automatically
get better, and I know that."
This is how the Spurs got the NBA title:
Game 1: CLE 76-85 SAS
Game 2: CLE 92-103 SAS
Game 3: SAS 75-72 CLE
Game 4: SAS 83-82 CLE
