Trump casino
executive shake-up
The president and chief
executive officer of Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. (NASDAQ:TRMP),
James B. Perry, has been fired.
Donald
Trump, during his 61st birthday celebration at Trump Taj Mahal
Casino Resort on Saturday night, announced that James Perry has
been let go from the executive position and will be replace by
the second in charge Mark Juliano.
The unexpected change comes at a time when Trump
Entertainment Resorts Inc. is considering a buy-out bid by the
former Atlantic City gaming executive Dennis Gomes and New York
real estate developer Morris Bailey. Mark Juliano, the company's
chief operating officer, appeared surprised by Trump's
announcement, but declined to comment.
James Perry has been the president of
the Trump casinos group since 2005 and played a major role in
the emerging of the company from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy
protection filed in the same year. The casino company has shown
financial progress slower than expected since.
