Championship semi-finals
The semi-final games of the
Uefa U21 Championship will start Wednesday, June 20th, England
U21 against Holland U21 most anticipated.
The Serbia U21 team secured a spot in the semi-finals of
the European U21 for the second straight time with a
match-winning goal in injury-time against the Czech Republic.
Serbia U21 will meet Belgium U21 in the semi-finals on the
Wednesday.
England joined Serbia, the Netherlands and
Belgium in the Uefa European Under-21 Championship semi-finals
as they claimed second place in Group B behind their opponents
thanks to the 2-0 win against Serbia. Leroy Lita and Matt
Derbyshire scored for England U21, but a red card for Tom
Huddlestone will make coach Stuart Pearce look for yet another
replacement entering the semi-final match against the
Netherlands.
England will not take part in the 2008 Olympic
Football Tournament in China, therefore Portugal will play Italy
on 21 June to decide the fourth spot for the Olympics.
