Dale Earnhardt
Jr. won't be sponsored by Budweiser in 2008
When Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins
Hendrick Motorsports next season, Anheuser-Busch will not
sponsor the driver.
Although
Budweiser has been sponsoring Earnhardt Jr. for over a decade,
when the NASCAR driver joins Hendrick next season,
Anheuser-Busch (NYSE:BUD) will not be his sponsor. Existing
agreements with sponsors of Hendrick Motorsports for the 2008
Nextel Cup prevent Anheuser-Busch from establishing an
advertisement relationship with the team.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. agreed in June to
leave the Dale Earnhardt Inc. team formed by his late father and
join Hendrick Motorsports for the 2008 Nextel Cup season.
Earnhardt Jr. said that he will continue to advertise Budweiser
until the end of the current season, but his main sponsor for
the 2008 is not yet known. Anheuser-Busch stated that they will
continue to sponsor NASCAR events and drivers in the future.
