Sergio Garcia
strong at the British Open Day 2
At the Second Round of
the 2007 British Open, Sergio Garcia maintained his lead,
shooting two birdies and two bogeys.
Sergio
Garcia continues to stay atop of the British Open leaderboard in
Day 2 of the golf Championship. Two bogeys at the 4th and 11th
were offset by two birdies at the 6th and 14th, and the Spanish
golfer is leading with total six under par after the second
round of the British Open. Of course the odds on Garcia were
immediately slashed - the Spaniard is snow the favorite to win
the 2007 British Open at 5/2, according to the U.K. online
bookmaker
Bet365 (new window).
Tiger Woods, who entered the Open with odds of 3/1 is now listed
second with 6/1. Not a good Day 2 for the U.S. golfer, as he
double bogeyed at the very beginning, followed by a birdie at
the second and 14th, but two bogeys at the 5th and 8th placed
him tied for 24th with one over.
KJ Choi is another golfer making the headlines
with his dynamic game, which stretched into the second day, as
well. KJ Choi got a total of five birdies ( 1st, 6th, 11th, 14th
and 15th holes) and only three bogeys (3rd, 8th and 18th) and
maintained his second place with 4-under total, two below the
leader Sergio Garcia. The Korean golfer is 8/1 to win the
British Open.
After Day 2 of the 2007 British Open, Jim Furyk
tied 5th with 2-under, and Angel Cabrera is T8 with one under
par. Ernie Els had a bad day all around, finishing tied for 17th
with even total, and some of the spectators were able to hear
words, for which Els later apologized.
