Tiger Woods done
at the British Open 2 under
Tiger Woods finished his
British Open game at 2 under on Sunday at the Carnoustie.
Whatever
hope for miracles Tiger Woods may have had entering the final
round of the 2007 British Open are now gone. Woods ended his
British Open participation at 2 under par for a total of 282,
and is currently tied for 13th.
Credit must be given to the world number
one for never giving up the fight. Tiger Woods started good with
2 birdies at the 4th and 5th, but bogeyed 8th and 11th.
Two more birdies in a row at the 13th and 14th, but a bogey
followed on the 15th.
The sportsbooks made Tiger Woods the
favorite to win the British Open with odds before the
Championship -
3/1 by Bodog Sports. Woods
performance at the Carnoustie will be devastating for the
bookmakers, as the rest of the field was given enormous betting
odds. The most likely winner of the 2007 British Open Sergio
Garcia, for example, held odds of 33/1 before it started. Andres
Romeo, who is currently third had odds on winning 175/1. Padraig
Harrington, the leader at 12:00pm EST was listed at 25/1.
Here are the top ten on the leaderboard of the
2007 British Open at 12:00pm EST, 5:00pm BST:
1 Padraig HARRINGTON 14 -9
2 Sergio GARCIA 13 -8
