Wayne arrested for gun possession
The rappers Ja Rule and
Lil Wayne were arrested in separate occasions for gun
possession.
Both Lil Wayne and Ja Rule were arrested in separate incidents
in New York late on Sunday on gun possession charges in New
York. This happened right after Lil Wayne concert at the Beacon
Theatre.
According to reports, the tour bus of Lil
Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) was pulled over
around midnight on Sunday, after the concert. While searching
the bus, the cops found .40-caliber pistol on Lil Wayne and
booked him for criminal possession of a concealed weapon.
Another passenger on the tour bus, Derrick Lawrence, was charged
with marijuana possession. According to some sources, Lil Wayne
actually had a permit for the gun.
Ja Rule (real name Jeffrey Atkins) was also
nabbed, after an hour earlier he was pulled over for speeding on
West End Avenue in New York. Ja Rule was a passenger in the
Maybach which police pulled over for speeding, but after it
turned out that the registration of the luxury car was
suspended, they searched the vehicle and found a .40 Taurus
pistol. According to the police, the serial number of the
handgun was scratched off. Ja Rule and the other two in the car
- Dennis Cherry and Mohamed Gamal were arrested on weapon
possession charges, as well.
