On Friday Eddie Murphy publicly acknowledge the paternity of Melanie Brown's young daughter.

Eddie Murphy admits Melanie Brown's baby is his Just one day after Melanie Brown, also known as Scary Spice, took legal action to establish the paternity of her young daughter Angel, Eddie Murphy went public admitting the baby was his. Melanie Brown filed papers on Thursday and on Friday Eddie Murphy came out with a statement via his publicist:

"Mr. Murphy and Ms. Brown dated very briefly and never made any plans of any sort. He acknowledges paternity of the child Angel, and has paid child support to Ms. Brown as well as covering the expenses of her pregnancy."

Melanie Brown gave birth to Angel on April 3rd of 2007, which is also Eddie Murphy's birthday. He was listed as the father of the baby on the birth certificate, however, Murphy declined to acknowledge he was the father until a paternity test has been performed. In late June People Magazine reported the court ordered DNA test results, which proved that Eddie Murphy was the father of Melanie Brown's baby daughter.
