The 44-year-old WWE wrestler
Brian "Crush" Adams found dead in his home.
The
former pro wrestling champion Brian "Crush" Adams was found dead
in his Tampa, Florida home on Monday. According to the police
report, there were no signs of injury and foul play is not
suspected at this time. The authorities are awaiting the autopsy
and toxicology results.
Adams' wife found him unconscious and
not breathing, and she called 911 around 11:00am. The Fire
Rescue workers were the first on the scene, pronouncing Brian
Crush Adams dead.
The wrestling career of Brian Crush
Adams started with the nickname "The American Ninja" when he was
a part of the tag team called "The Wrecking Crew". He was given
Pacific Northwest Heavyweight Championship in 1990, which he
lost later to Scott Norton.
In 1990 Adams became the third member of
the WWF team Demolition with the nick name Crush. Due to the
Freebird Rule, Brian Crush Adams instantly became a WWF
World Tag Team Champion without actually being involved in
winning the title. In 1991 Adams went back to the PNW, but in
1992 rejoined the WWF. During his time with the WWF, in 1995
Brian Crush Adams was arrested and jailed briefly in Hawaii for
purchasing steroids and owning an illegal stun gun. He last
performed for the World Wrestling Federation in 2001.
Brian Crush Adams retired in 2003 after
suffering a spinal injury. His death comes just a couple of
months after Chris Benoit killed his wife and son, then
committing suicide. Later last month another former pro
wrestler, John Kronus, was also found dead at home, at the age
of 34.
