White House announcement that
George Bush's daughter, Jenna, has engaged to Henry Hager.
The office of the First Lady released the following
statement, announcing the engagement of Jenna Bush to long-time
boyfriend Henry Hager:
"President and Mrs. George W. Bush are happy
to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jenna Bush, to Mr.
Henry Hager, son of the Honorable and Mrs. John H. Hager of
Richmond, Virginia. Miss Bush and Mr. Hager became engaged
Wednesday, August 15, 2007."
Jenna Bush, 25, along with her sister
Barbara, have been kept away from the press for quite some time,
after the two young women became famous as party girls, when
they were arrested for underage drinking while in college. In
April of 2001 Jenna was charged with a misdemeanor of being a
minor in possession of alcohol, and exactly one month later she
was charged with another misdemeanor for attempting to buy
alcohol with a fake ID. She pleaded no contest to both
misdemeanors. Jenna Bush graduated from the University of Texas
at Austin in 2004 with a degree in English and worked as a
school teacher for a little over an year, before taking an
internship with UNICEF in Panama.
Henry Hager is the son of former Virginia
lieutenant governor John Hager. Henry has served as a White
House aide to Karl Rove and worked in George W. Bush's
re-election campaign. Hager is currently a graduate student in
business administration at the University of Virginia Darden
School of Business Administration.
