killed in Thompson Speedway crash

driver John Blewett III was killed in a two-car crash at the
Thompson Speedway in Connecticut on Thursday night.

driver John Blewett III was killed on Thursday after an accident
at the Thompson International Speedway. John Blewett III got
into an accident, while driving his modified tour racing car
during the New England Dodge Dealers 150.
John died as a result of an accident,
which involved his brother Jimmy Blewett. The brothers were
racing for the lead following a restart of the race on lap 107,
when Jimmy hit a wall and then struck John Blewett's car.
John Blewett suffered head and neck
injuries and had to be extricated from his car. He was taken to
Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster, Massachusetts, where he
was pronounced dead. NASCAR stopped the 150 lap race and has not
announced a winner although Todd Szegedy was in the lead.
