The Derby:
Manchester City beats United 1-0
The Manchester derby between
City and United was bitter for the Red Devils fans, after losing
1-0 at Eastlands.
With
an astonishing win over rival Manchester United, City is now
three wins out of three games this football season. Although
United dominated the game from the very beginning of the match,
the City keeper Kasper Schmeichel was brilliant and pretty much
gave the win to his team by not allowing United a goal.
Manchester City scored the only goal in
the game via the debuting Brazilian midfielder Geovanni 31
minutes into the game.
After the Manchester City victory,
United have now made their worst ever Premier League start in
taking only two points from their first three games, while City
is now 3-for-3 and have not allowed a goal in their net yet.
Great start for the new boss Sven-Goran Eriksson and an awful
season for Sir Alex Ferguson. The last time Manchester United
scored 2 points from the first three games was in 1992, and back
then United were able to finish the season as champions, thus
there is still hope for the red fans.
