Is Fidel Castro
dead, more rumors the Castro has died
A new wave of rumors that the
leader of communist Cuba Fidel Castro is dead hit the Internet.
There
has been an increased number of speculations that the leader of
Cuba, Fidel Castro, has died. It all started with the celebrity
blogger known under the alias "Perez Hilton" who announced on
August 13th, the 81st birthday of Castro, that the Cuban leader
may be dead. At that time nothing more was mentioned, such as
sources of the rumor, but that was enough spark to start a giant
Internet fire.
According to the blogger, "Sources
reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that U.S. officials will
be holding a press conference shortly to announce the death of
Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. South Florida police organizations
are calling in reinforcements before the announcement is made,
we're told."
The fact that Fidel Castro had not
appeared in public for over an year just added extra fuel to the
fire. Earlier last week, Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez
Roque stated that Castro is still alive and is in the process of
recovering. U.S. officials also deny they have any information
that Fidel Castro is dead, but admit there have been reports his
health is deteriorating.
So far the death of Fidel Castro remains
a rumor, unconfirmed by either the Cuban nor the American
governments.
