Ferrari's Felipe
Massa wins Turkish Grand Prix
After he took the pole on
Saturday, on Sunday Ferrari driver Felipe Massa won the F1
Turkish Grand Prix.
Double
victory for Ferrari at Sunday's Formula 1 race in Istanbul,
Turkey. Felipe Massa won the Turkish Grand Prix, followed by
teammate Kimi Raikkonen, who was only 2.2 seconds slower than
Massa. Both Ferrari drivers, however, clearly dominated the
entire F1 race, leaving the McLaren-Mercedes Fernando Alonso a
distant third, 26.1 seconds behind the winner Felipe Massa. Nick
Heidfeld with BMW took the fourth spot.
Lewis Hamilton (McLaren) finished fifth
at the Turkish Grand Prix, but the British driver should be
happy with any points won from this race, after he blew a tire
during the 43rd lap. Hamilton was able to pit the car and change
tires to resume the race, but the two Ferraris, who lead on the
Briton since the first pit stop in the race, were long gone and
he lost all chances of a shot at the victory.
Taking 4 points from the Turkish Grand
Prix helped Lewis Hamilton to remain the leader among the
drivers with a total of 84, but Fernando Alonso added 6 points
to shorten the distance between the two McLaren drivers to only
5 points with a total of 79. The winner Felipe Massa is third
with 69 points, one point ahead of teammate Ferrari driver Kimi
Raikkonen with 68 total.
