Mega Millions
jackpot - 4 lottery winning tickets
Four winners of the Mega
Millions $330 million jackpot, according to lottery officials.
Last
week one ticket took the entire Powerball jackpot, this Friday
total of four winning tickets were sold for the Mega Millions,
according to lottery officials. The Mega Millions jackpot is
estimated to be around $330 million, and the four winners bought
their tickets from different states - Maryland, New Jersey,
Texas and Virginia. So far none of the winners of the Mega
Millions jackpot have come forward on Saturday to claim the
prize. The Mega Millions winning numbers are 8, 18, 22, 40, 44,
and the Mega Ball number is 11.
If the estimates of the size of the Mega
Millions jackpot are correct, it would be one of the largest
ever won in this game. The largest, however, was awarded in
2000, when the game was known as "The Big Game" and it was worth
$363 million.
If the Friday winners of the Mega
Millions $330 million jackpot take the prize in one lump sum, it
would be over $48 million each, if they accept 26 annual
payments - $82 million total for each of the lottery winners.
The Maryland winner was sold at a liquor
store in in Nottingham, the New Jersey winner was sold at a food
store in the town of Villas, the Virginia winning ticket was
sold at a gas station in Buckingham, the Texas ticket is
unknown at this time.
According to the Maryland Lottery
Director, you have a better chance of being hit by lightning at
the same place and time every day for a week, than winning Mega
Millions, i.e. odds were one in 176 million.
