Lucas Glover wins 2009 US Open
After a long and hard US Open, we have a
winner - 29-year-old Lucas Glover won the 2009 US Open
Golf Championship, pocketing $1,350,000 in prize money. Going
head-to-head with countryman Ricky Barnes in the final round of
the US Open, Lucas Glover managed to edge on Barnes and become
the winner of the 2009 US Open, finishing at 4-under 276.
Mickelson, Duval and Barnes all tied for the second spot on the
leaderboard at 2-under 278. And the odds-on favorite in the
opening round of the 2009 US Open at
Bodog Sports, Tiger Woods,
finished tied for the 6th at 1-under 280.
Bettors who took Lucas Glover today
before the start of the final round of the golf championship
would have been paid on 3/2 favorite odds, even though Glover
was tied for the top of the leaderboard with Barnes, who paid on
3/1. The odds on Mickelson to be the 2009 US Open winner were
9/2 and Tiger Woods held long 14/1. Again, the 2009 US Open
winner is Lucas Glover who took home the 2009 US Open
prize money of $1,350,000 for the first time in his career.
