NFL: Jaguars vs.
Colts, Redskins @ NY Giants point spread and odds
Great line-up for the opening week of the NFL season, here
we will take a look at the betting odds and point spread on the
games Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts and the
Washington Redskins vs. NY Giants. The last time the Colts met
the Jaguars Indianapolis won the game 31-24 on the road in
December, while a month earlier the NY Giants plowed through the
Redskins with 23-7 victory, also on the road. Let's take a look
at the odds and point spreads posted at the popular online
sportsbook
Bookmaker and see if the bookie
is expecting any surprises this NFL season.
Beginning with the Jacksonville
Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts NFL Week 1 game, the betting
numbers are just as many of you may have expected. At Bookmaker
the odds are heavily stacked against the Jaguars, who are +265
underdog to win their opening game, while according to the odds
makers, the game should be a breeze for the Colts, who are
listed with the short odds of -315 on victory this Sunday. The
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts point spread is
currently at -7 points chalk the Colts and the total posted by
the sportsbook is 45 points. Betting trends show that even
though Jacksonville has covered the point spread just once in
its last 7 games, Indianapolis is 3-6 against the spread in its
last 9 games when playing the Jaguars. The total, however, has
gone OVER in 4 of the Colts last 5 games against the
Jacksonville Jaguars.
Not much to report as far as injuries in
either of the two NFL teams. Jaguars tight end Zach Miller is
the only player in Jacksonville missing Week 1 football, after
DT Derek Landri was upgraded to probable. In Indianapolis
defensive tackle Ed Johnson will continue to serve suspension
until Week 2, while safety Bob Sanders and corner back Jamie
Silva are out for the game against the Jaguars with injuries.
Colts defensive tackle Fili Moala remains questionable for the
football game on Sunday with knee issues.
Moving on to the next NFL game on our
list, the match-up between the Washington Redskins and the
New York Giants. The situation here isn't much different, as
expected the Giants are the odds-on favorite to win the football
game this weekend, listed with -290 odds by the online
sportsbook
Bookmaker. The Redskins on the
other side will come out on Giants Stadium as a big underdog
with odds +240 on victory in their first game for the season.
The Washington Redskins vs. New York Giants point spread is at
-6.5 points chalk the Giants and the total set by the odds
makers is currently at just 37 points. The latest betting trends
show that the NY Giants are 5-2 against the spread in their last
7 games at home, while the Redskins have covered the spread only
once out of the last 6 games against the Giants. Also keep in
mind that the total has gone UNDER in 5 of Washington's last 5
games when playing on the road against NY Giants.
The Redskins however have one advantage
- only cornerback Carlos Rogers shows on the injury lists and he
is listed as probable for the game against the Giants on Sunday.
Meanwhile Giants linebacker Michael Boley is out until Week 2
serving a suspension, while CB Aaron Ross is out for opening
week football with hamstring injury. Offensive tackle Adam Koets
is doubtful for the game against the Redskins and so is
linebacker Clint Sintim. Cornerback Kevin Dockery is
questionable for NFL Week 1 participation, also nursing a
hamstring injury.
