Jets vs. Patriots
point spread and odds
Our Week 11 NFL point spreads and odds preview continue
with the NY Jets vs. New England Patriots game, which is
enjoying a great interest from the bettors this weekend. The New
York Jets (4-5) are traveling north to meet the New England
Patriots (6-3) for a game made even more interesting by the fact
that the Jets already got one over the Pats in September,
beating New England 16-9. This AFC East match-up remains
important for both teams - the Patriots are atop the division
but just a win ahead of the Dolphins, while the Jets, although
struggling lately and losing 2 in a row, are still just a game
behind the Dolphins, keeping the AFC East still alive and full
of drama.
But just as expected, the New England
Patriots are a big favorite today, listed with the whopping -620
odds on winning the game at the online sportsbook
Bookmaker, while the Jets are
underdog with odds +495 on a surprise upset this Sunday. The
NY Jets vs. New England Patriots point spread is currently
at -10/5 points chalk the Patriots with the total expected by
the sports betting site listed as 45 points even. Naturally the
majority of the wagers on the Jets - Patriots game will go to
the point spread, so here are the betting trends. The NY Jets
are 2-4 against the spread in their last 6 games on the road and
1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Meanwhile New England is
4-2 against the spread in its last 6 games at home, but the
Patriots are 3-10 against the spread in their last 13 games when
playing at home against the Jets.
Injuries are already plaguing the
Patriots - running back Fred Taylor remains the only player
officially out for the game against the Jets today, but a long
list of questionable players remains, including running back
Sammy Morris, linebackers Tully Banta-Cain, Eric Alexander and
Rob Ninkovich, tight end Chris Baker, tight end Chris Baker and
defensive tackle Ron Brace. Pats quarterback Tom Brady was
upgraded to probable, following a right shoulder injury, along
with corner Shawn Springs and tight end Benjamin Watson.
Meanwhile at the NY Jets only linebacker Vernon Gholston is out
for the Sunday game against the Patriots and safety Jim Leonhard
remains questionable for the NFL Week 11 game. Jets defensive
end Shaun Ellis, linebacker Bryan Thomas and wide receiver Brad
Smith were all upgraded to probable for the Jets - Pats game
this afternoon.
