Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings point spread and line

Today we are closing the NFL Week 4 point spread and betting odds preview with the Monday night football game Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings, below you will find the spread and lines on this Midwestern battle. What makes this game even more interesting is the fact that this will be the first time newly signed Vikings quarterback  Brett Favre will face off his long-time employer, the Packers. The two teams already met last year in November, a game won by the Vikings by a single point in Green Bay for a final 28-27. But on Monday, both the Green Bay Packers (2-1) and the Minnesota Vikings (3-0) are coming out from winning games in Week 3 and while the Packers got an L in Week 2, failing to deliver against the Bengals at home, the Minnesota Vikings are on a great 3-game winning streak.

And judging from the latest point spread and line on the Packers Vikings game, Minnesota is well on its way to get another victory on Monday and extend their great record this season. Starting with the spreads and lines at the popular online sportsbook Bookmaker, the Vikings are a clear favorite with odds to win the game at -210, while the line on the Packers to beat their old adversary is posted by the odds makers at +180. The Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings point spread is currently at -4.5 points chalk the Vikings with the total expected by the sportsbook set at 46 points even. As with every Monday night football game, we also look at the spread and line at another great sports betting website, Bodog Sports, to give our readers the chance to pick the best line to close the football week. At Bodog the Vikings are even bigger favorite, listed with -225 line to win the game, while the Packers will come out on Metrodome as +185 underdog. The Packers Vikings point spread here is favoring Minnesota at -5 points, although just a couple of hours earlier the spread was -5.5, but bettors siding with the Packers moved the spread and line a bit.

If you are betting the point spread on the Packers - Vikings game, keep in mind that Green Bay is 3-6 against the spread in its last 9 games, but the Packers are 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 games when playing on the road against the Minnesota Vikings. Meanwhile the Vikings have covered the spread only once in their last 6 games at home and the total has gone OVER in 7 of Minnesota's last 9 games when playing at home against the Green Bay Packers.

Injuries are not expected to play a big role in this Monday night football game. At Minnesota most of the injured players were upgraded to probable for the game against the Packers, including quarterback Brett Favre, cornerback Cedric Griffin and linebacker E.J. Henderson. With the Vikings the only questionable player remains FB Naufahu Tahi, while wide receiver Darius Reynaud and linebacker Erin Henderson, both nursing injuries. Meanwhile in Green Bay out of Week 4 are running back Brandon Jackson and linebacker Jeremy Thompson, while the rest of the names on the injury list, including wide receiver Greg Jennings, cornerback Charles Woodson, plus defensive ends Cullen Jenkins and Johnny Jolly, were all upgraded to probable for participation in the Monday night football game Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings.
