Zynga files for
Nevada online gambling license
Zynda, the most prominent provider of social network games, is
taking the business of gaming to a whole new level - real online
gambling. The company has filed with the Nevada gaming
regulators to be granted a license to real money online gambling
in the state. Now it's Nevada Gaming Control Board's turn to
decide on whether they will grant the gambling license to Zynda,
a process which could take well over a year until ruling.
This is not the first time Zynda has
been eyeing internet gambling. Earlier this year a deal with
Bwin was announced which would see Zynda offering real-money
casino and poker games to residents of the UK. The company's
foray into US-based online gambling is just one of many ways
Zynda is looking to offset the mounting losses and the recent
distrust of Wall Street, which has seen the stock plummet. Zynda
is already offering play-money gambling games, like the one
pictured here.
