Monday Night Football: NY Giants vs. Atlanta Falcons spread and odds

Last chance for Week 6 football with the game between the New York Giants and the Atlanta Falcons point spread and betting odds.

Monday Night Football: NY Giants vs. Atlanta Falcons spread and odds The final Week 6 NFL game will see the New York Giants (3-2) going to Atlanta to face the struggling Falcons (1-4). Let's quickly look at the best betting numbers on this game. The point spread for NY Giants vs. Atlanta Falcons is currently posted at -4.5 points chalk the Giants with a total sitting at 43.5 at the betting website Bookmaker. The Giants enter the game favorite with odds -235, compared to Atlanta at +195. Now, all these numbers could put the bookie's foot in the bookie's mouth, let's find out why.

Other than home filed advantage, there isn't anything else going on in the Falcons favor this week and with a 1-4 record there is less and less cheering at Turner Field to interrupt the Giants communication. Veteran tackles Todd Weiner and Wayne Gandy  are out of this game, Gandy for the season, Weiner for at least two weeks, after a knee surgery, and will be replaced by rookie Renardo Foster and second-year Tyson Clabo. Another rookie, Justin Blalock, will cover the left guard duties for his first start with the team. Even when Michael Vick was playing things always went wrong for the Falcons, Vick getting sacked seven times in the last matchup with the Giants in Atlanta. The Giants may not have much going on, but they have the sack-master Osi Umenyiora, who will make the game miserable for Joey Harrington (or Byron Leftwich).

On the Giants side we have Eli Manning in excellent shape, RB Brandon Jacobs is back with the team after an injury and, of course, veteran WR Plaxico Burress has shown an amazing performance, despite playing with sprained right ankle. Statistically, the defenses match, but the Giants offense is leading almost twofold on average points scored with 24.6, compared to Atlanta's 13.8, throw in a bunch of rookies and you got yourself a bog point spread. You can take advantage of the current -4.5 spread at Bookmaker.
