Point spread Week 8: Bills vs. Jets, Oakland at Tennessee

Final pair of betting reviews and point spread on the Week 8 football games Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets and Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titians.

Point spread Week 8: Bills vs. Jets, Oakland at Tennessee We will close this week's betting previews with the odds and spread on the two games which promise a great payout if you get them right. First we'll start with the Week 8 football game between the Buffalo Bills (2-4) and the New York Jets (1-6). At Bookmaker the Jets are posted as favorite to win at -155 and the Bills will do another underdog game with odds +135. The point spread for the Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets is currently favoring the Jets -3 points with total listed at 37.5 points. Betting trends show that Buffalo is 11-4 against the spread in its last 15 games and the NY Jets are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games. The total has gone UNDER in 4 of the NY Jets last 6 games when playing at home against Buffalo.

The Bills will stick with rookie quarterback Trent Edwards, who has improved their stats since given the chance, after starter Losman was sidelined with ankle injury. Trent Edwards has also proven he could lead the Bills to victory against the Jets after going 22-out-of-28 in September, when he Jets lost 17-14 against the Bills. Buffalo is still far from a good team, but the Jets aren't any better and both teams share some of the lowest stats in the league. But the New York Jets will have the best motivation this weekend - getting fired. On Wednesday coach Eric Mangini said that Chad Pennington will keep his job, but Mangini is reviewing the entire team and the future of some players with the Jets depends totally on their game against the Bills. With such motivation is quite possible that this game could go against the bookies. Limited Thursday practice in New York: Chad Pennington, Laveranues Coles, Chris Baker and Dewayne Robertson. Missed Thursday practice in Buffalo: Ryan Denney, Chris Kelsay, Ryan Neufeld, Josh Stamer and Ashton Youboty.

Southwest of New York, the Tennessee Titans (4-2) will welcome the Oakland Raiders (2-4). At Bookmaker the Titians are favorite in Week 8 with odds -325 and the Raiders are seeing one of their worst underdog odds at +275, after bailing on the bookies and losing 12-10 to the Chiefs in Week 7, while -135 favorite. The point spread for the Oakland Raiders vs. Tennessee Titans is favoring the Titans -7 points and the total is listed at 40.5 points. Tennessee is 11-3 against the spread in its last 14 games and Oakland is 2-9 against the spread in its last 11 games. The total has gone OVER in 4 of Tennessee's last 5 games when playing Oakland.

The Titans won their last week's game in Houston 38-36 without Vince Young, but backup Kerry Collins did a good enough job for Tennessee to go home with another victory. But coach Jeff Fisher is expecting Vince Young on the field this weekend, which would make the Titans job much easier. Oakland quarterback Daunte Culpepper may be replaced by Josh McCown, who did a full Thursday practice and so did wide receiver Jerry Porter. Tennessee will likely play without RBs Ahmard Hall and Chris Brown, who missed practice yesterday. WRs Chris Davis and Brandon Jones did a full practice and will join the Titans in Week 8.
