Poker champ
busted for gambling in Tennessee
World Series of Poker (Senior
Division) winner Paul McKinney charged with gambling in
Tennessee.
Paul
McKinney, 82-year-old former Senior Division World Series of
Poker winner, was arrested last Friday, along with 15 other
poker players, after a bust by the Kingsport, Tennessee police.
McKinney, resident of Virginia, and Donnie Godsey were charged
with aggravated gambling promotion, as the police believes that
they organized the illegal poker event. Over $20,000 in cash,
poker chips and sports betting slips were confiscated by the
authorities, who have acted on anonymous tip.
Paul McKinney won the 2005 World Series
of Poker (Senior Division), at the time the oldest poker
tournament winner, taking home over $200,000 in prize money. He
was released on $3,250 the same day. Court date for the poker
champ has not been set yet.
