NFL Week 10 point
spread: Atlanta at Carolina, Vikings vs. Packers
The point spread and odds on
the Week 10 NFL games Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers and
Minnesota Vikings vs. Green Bay Packers.
We
start this week's football betting odds and point spread preview
with the game between the Atlanta Falcons (2-6) and the
Carolina Panthers (4-4). The Falcons finally got theoir
break against the 49ers last week, but for Week 10 at
Bookmaker the Falcons are
listed underdog with odds +180 and the Panthers are favorite
with betting odds -210. The point spread on the Atlanta
Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers game is sitting at -4 points
chalk the Panthers with total at 35.5 points. Keep in mind that
Atlanta is 4-1 against the spread in its last 5 games and
Carolina is 0-5 ATS in its last 5 games at home.
The Panthers will have an opportunity to
tie for the first spot in the NFC South if they beat the Falcons
this weekend and that sounds as very good motivation for the
team to give 100% on the field. Quarterback problems are the
Achilles heel of the Panthers - David Carr missed Wednesday
practice after concussion against the Titans last week, Vinny
Testaverde returned to practice, but coach John Fox has not
named Testaverde a starter yet and rookie QB Matt Moore may get
his first play against the Falcons on Sunday. It sounds like a
good decision, the next couple of games will match the Panthers
with Green Bay and the Saints and you would want to have healthy
veteran quarterbacks on the field. The Falcons desperately need
Ws, but RB Warrick Dunn and TE Alge Crumpler had a limited
practice n Wednesday and RB Jerious Norwood was a no-show
yesterday. Overall, the Panthers should be able to beat the
Falcons, although with a rookie quarterback it's questionable if
they will cover the -4 point spread.
Now we go to Wisconsin for the Week 10
football game between the Minnesota Vikings (3-5) and the
Green Bay Packers (7-1). At
Bookmaker the Packers are
favorite with odds -250 and the Vikings will be underdog with
betting odds +210. The point spread on the Minnesota Vikings
vs. Green Bay Packers game is posted at -6 points chalk the
Packers with total listed at 40 points. Minnesota is 3-4-2
against the spread in its last 9 games on the road and Green Bay
is 7-1-1 ATS in its last 9 games. The total has gone UNDER in 4
of Green Bay's last 6 games when playing Minnesota.
The Green Bay Packers are sitting atop
of the NFC North, but are feeling the heat from the Lions and a
win against the Vikings is a must. Packers are on their 3-game
winning streak and will shoot for a forth, while the Vikings
will try and get fourth win this season, boosted from the 17-35
victory over the Chargers last week. The Packers have the awful
habit of losing their home games more often than losing away and
will have to rely on their 12th ranked defense (313.6 yards
allowed) to hold off the Vikings' record-breaking running back
Adrian Peterson. Minnesota quarterbacks Tarvaris Jackson and
Kelly Holcomb had limited Wednesday practice, as well ass wide
receivers Sidney Rice and Bobby Wade. The list of Green Bay
players who had limited yesterday's practice is much longer, WR
Ruvell Martin, RB Ryan Grant, LBs Brady Poppinga and Tracy
White, DTs Corey Williams and Ryan Pickett, and many more. If
the Packers don't get healthy for the Sunday football matchup,
the game could go against the bookies.
