NFL point spread:
Panthers vs. Packers, Saints vs. Texans
NFL Week 11 point spread and
betting odds preview of the games Carolina Panthers vs. Green
Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans.
We
continue our Week 11 NFL point spread and odds preview
with the Carolina Panthers (4-5) and their visit to the
Green Bay Packers (8-1) this Sunday. The Packers are
holding their top position on the NFC North table and the
bookmakers are confident Green Bay will add one more "W" to
their record. At the online sportsbook
Bodog Sports the point
spread on the Carolina Panthers vs. Green Bay Packers game
is currently sitting at -10 points chalk the Packers with a
total of 37.5 points. The bookie has listed the Packers as odds
favorite at -550 and the Panther are underdog with odds +375.
Betting trends show that Carolina is 2-4 against the spread in
its last 6 games and Green Bay is 8-1-1 against the spread in
its last 10 games.
The Carolina Panthers lost at home last
week to the Atlanta Falcons 20-13, but they are still a
contender in the NFC South, behind Tampa Bay. Wide Receiver
Steve Smith remains questionable for the Week 11 game, but RB
DeShaun Foster and CB Ken Lucas have been upgraded to probable
and will be a game-day decision. The Green Bay Packers, on the
other side, had no problem putting the smack-down on the Vikings
last week at home, winning the game 0-34 and it's obvious that
they are looking forward to the Super Bowl. Most of their
injured players have been upgraded to probable, except
linebacker Tracy White, who is still doubtful for Week 11.
The Week 11 football game between the
New Orleans Saints (4-5) and the Houston Texans (4-5)
is much harder to predict. The Saints seemed to have recovered
from the 0-4 start with four straight wins and last week the
team was looking forward to the top spot on the NFC South table,
but 37-29 upset by the Rams held New Orleans back. At
Bodog Sports the point
spread for the New Orleans Saints vs. Houston Texans
match-up has been posted as a "pick", meaning that whichever
team wins the game, automatically covers the spread, but at
another betting website
Bookmaker, the point spread is
favoring the Texans -1.5 points. New Orleans is 3-9 against the
spread in its last 12 games and Houston is 1-5 ATS in its last 6
games.
Even though the Houston Texans are at
the bottom of the AFC South, the team has not thrown the towel
yet, beating the Raiders on the road last week 24-17. The Texans
and the Saints match very closely statistically, but Houston is
edging the Saints defensively with 311.5 yards allowed per game,
compared to New Orleans with 352.1 yards allowed on average. DE
Charles Grant is still questionable for the Saints and DT Brian
Young is out for Week 11, which could make the Houston's job
easier.
