Houston Nutt to
part with the Arkansas Razorbacks
Arkansas Razorbacks head coach
Houston Nutt will not accept contract, sources claim.
According
to ESPN, citing sources close to the Razorbacks, head coach
Houston Nutt will not be with Arkansas next season. According to
the sports network, Nutt is preparing to resign from the head
coach position, despite the $2.4 million annual salary offered
by chancellor John A. White to sway Nutt to remain with
Arkansas. Fans of the Razorbacks have been divided over their
feelings of Houston Nutt coaching the team, despite the positive
8-4 season and the upset Arkansas laid down on LSU last weekend.
A conference is scheduled at 7:30 pm ET, during which Nutt is
expected to resign.
Houston Dale Nutt signed with Arkansas
in 1998, succeeding head coach Danny Ford, coming out of a brief
stay with Boise State in 1997. Before that he got his first head
coach position at Murray State University from 1993-96. Houston
Nutt will leave the Arkansas Razorbacks with a 10-year record of
75-48 three SEC West championships and two trips to the
conference championship game.
