New England
Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens: Point spread and odds
The point spread, odds and
betting preview of the Monday night football game New England
Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens.
In
Week 13 the unbeaten New England Patriots (11-0) will
travel the short distance to visit the Baltimore Ravens
(4-7) in their conquest for the perfect record this season.
There is little hope in the hearts of the Ravens fans this
Monday, but the betting companies are taking the lesson from the
Patriots last week's game against the Eagles and are posting
relatively conservative betting numbers on this football matchup.
At the online sportsbook
Bodog Sports, the point
spread on the New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens game
is currently sitting at only -20 points chalk the Pats and the
expected total is posted at 48.5 points. When you consider that
the point spread on the Patriots last week reached record
numbers across all sportsbooks, the -20 points spread posted
this week against the Ravens and their 5-game losing streak is
relatively small. The betting odds on the Patriots vs. Ravens
game at
Bookmaker are also shy compared
to last week. The Pats are odds favorite to win with line -1600
and the line on the Ravens is +1050.
The New England Patriots quarterback Tom
Brady was upgraded to probable after the right shoulder injury
and will likely play in the game against Baltimore. The Ravens
quarterback Steve McNair, however, was last posted as out for
Week 13, along with wide receiver Demetrius Williams. Tight end
Todd Heap, cornerback Chris McAlister and safety Gerome Sapp are
all questionable for the game against the Pats, but the rest of
the Baltimore's injuries have been upgraded to probable,
including LBs Jarret Johnson and Gary Stills, as well as running
back Willis McGahee. Keep in mind that New England is 5-1
against the spread in its last 6 games on the road and Baltimore
is 0-5 against the spread in its last 5 games. Considering this
and the injuries in the Ravens team, the New England Patriots
should be able to cover the -20 point spread this time around.
