Elin Nordegren Woods, wife of
the famous golfer Tiger Woods, has settled her lawsuit with
magazine over fake naked pictures.
Elin
Nordegren Woods, wife of No.1 golfer Tiger Woods, has settled
out of court her lawsuit against the Dubliner magazine. The mag
published fake nude photos of Elin Nordegren, right before the
Ryder Cup start last year. The magazine linked Nordegren Woods
to adult Web sites and printed pictures in which her head had
been superimposed onto another woman's body under the title
“Ryder Filth for Dublin”. Nordegren Woods filed to lawsuit on
November of 2006 and today the magazine publisher came with the
statement that the lawsuit with Elin Woods had been settled. As
part of the settlement the magazine will pay unknown sum to
cancer support charities. According to some reports the Dubliner
will pay $182,000 over a 2-year period. If the magazine fails to
pay out the money, it will be liable for another $182,000.
"The false and deeply offensive article
in The Dubliner magazine, with the accompanying photograph of
another woman wrongly claimed to be me, caused great personal
distress to me and my family," was the statement made by Elin
Nordegren.
