Tiger Woods - PGA Player of the Year Tiger Woods was voted the PGA Player of the year by his peers for the third straight time and ninth in his 11-year pro career. The PGA Player of the year award is vote-based and the only other name on the ballot was Phil Mickelson. Tiger Woods also won the PGA of America player of the year, which is a point-based award. After winning seven times in 2007, including the PGA Championship, Woods also grabbed for the eighth time the Arnold Palmer Award, which is given to the player with most earnings, as well as his eighth Byron Nelson Trophy for leading the tour in scoring average at 67.79. Jay Haas was voted Champions Tour player of the year, while Nick Flanagan won the award on the Nationwide Tour.

Tiger Woods remains the odds favorite to win the 2007 Target World Challenge at 5/4 at the online betting firm Bodog Sports, followed by Vijay Singh with 8/1, Jim Furyk at 10/1 and Padraig Harrington with odds on winning this PGA tourney at 11/1.
