Jacksonville
Jaguars vs. Pittsburgh Steelers: Point spread and line
The preview of the NFL Week 15
game Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Pittsburgh Steelers, including the
point spread and betting lines.
One
of the best football game in Week 15 is without a doubt the
matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars (9-4) and the
Pittsburgh Steelers (9-4). The Steelers will try and keep
the leading position in the AFC North away from the Browns on
Sunday and the Jaguars, although pretty much waived AFC South,
are still on the road to the playoffs via wild card, if they
could keep away the 8-5 and 7-6 competition in the American
Football Conference. The last time these two football teams met
was in 2006 and the Jaguars took the victory home 9-0. But the
odds makers are siding with the Steelers this week. At the
online sportsbook
Bodog Sports the point
spread on the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
is sitting at -3.5 points chalk the Steelers with total listed
as 37 points. Pittsburgh is also the odds favorite at
Bookmaker, the line on the
Steelers sitting at -190 and the Jaguars hold underdog line of
+160.
Three major players for the Steelers missed
Wednesday practice, however, and those are the quarterback Ben
Roethlisberger, cornerback Bryant McFadden and wide receiver
Hines Ward. At this point it remains unknown if these football
players will make the list on Sunday. But Jacksonville is also
dealing with a few injuries, defensive end Reggie Hayward and
linebacker Mike Peterson are out for Week 15, and CB Rashean
Mathis, DT Jeremy Mincey and RB Fred Taylor all missed practice
yesterday. Offensively the Jags and the Steelers match up pretty
well, with 23.5 and 23.8 points respectively scored per game. Of
course, the defense will be the Steelers primary weapon, leading
the league with 245.5 yards and 14.5 points allowed on average.
Keep in mind that Jacksonville is 5-0 against the spread in its
last 5 games and Pittsburgh is 1-4 against the spread in its
last 5 games. The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Pittsburgh's last
11 games when playing Jacksonville.
