X Factor winner:
Leon Jackson wins the finale
After surprising results, Leon
Jackson was the winner of "X Factor", ahead of favorite
Rhydian Roberts.
Who won the X Factor? Not the favorite Roberts. During
last nights X Factor results, Leon Jackson became the winner of
the popular British talent show, upsetting the bookmakers and
millions of Roberts fans. Winning the "X Factor" means that Leon
Jackson got the £1 million
Sony BMG record contract, which was the grand prize of the show.
At the beginning of the X Factor finale, host Dermot O'Leary
turned up the suspense by announcing that the difference in
votes between Rhydian Roberts and Leon Jackson was only 1%.
Prior to this, viewers learned that the duo Same Difference got
the fewest votes and they took the third place and it was down
to the Scot vs. Welsh singers.
Leon Jackson broke down when he learned
that he was the winner of X Factor, saying "It’s not real. I
didn’t think I’d win in a million years. I just thought I would
try my luck. I am amazed...It just means the world...I love
singing." And the X Factor finale was a shock for the
bookmakers, as well. The U.K. licensed online bookmaker
Bet 365 had Leon Jackson listed
with odds on winning the show at 7/2, while the favorite Rhydian
Roberts held odds of 11/4. Just two weeks ago, the odds on Leon
Jackson to win "X Factor" were 9/2.
