British pop singer Lily Allen is pregnant, the father of her first child is Ed Simons.

The 22-year-old pop beauty confirmed the news via her spokesman: "I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child. However, as the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern. As the pregnancy is at such an early stage, the couple will be making no further comment but they are obviously both thrilled by the news.” Lily Allen and Chemical Brothers musician Ed Simons, 37, have been dating since September and both seem to be happy with the way things are going.

She is about to release a new album and appear on a new TV show next year, and the pregnancy will not prevent Allen from keeping up with her career, said her spokesman. Future changes are to be expected, however, as Lily Allen has always frowned upon using nannies to raise children and had said that she doesn't want to follow into her mother's footsteps and make her career the number one priority.

Lily Allen has often appeared on the bookmakers betting sheets, most recently she was one of the favorites to be arrested for DUI with odds 4/1 by the online sportsbook Bodog Sports, beating Lindsay Lohan (11/2) and David Hasselhoff (13/2). Certainly the odds makers will publish betting props on the Lily Allen's first child, stay tuned.
