Las Vegas Bowl betting odds and point spread: UCLA vs. BYU

Preview of the Las Vegas Bowl game with point spread and betting odds on UCLA vs. BYU.

Las Vegas Bowl betting odds and point spread: UCLA vs. BYU The last bowl game this Saturday is the Las Vegas Bowl, which will match up the college football teams UCLA Bruins (6-6) and BYU Cougars (10-2). The Las Vegas Bowl will be the chance for BYU for a pay-back, after UCLA beat the Cougars 27-17 in September. Will this happen again on Saturday? The odds makers say no and at the online sportsbook Bodog Sports, the point spread on the Las Vegas Bowl game UCLA vs. BYU is currently favoring the Cougars -7 points with the total expected sitting at 46 points. BYU is also a big odds favorite, listed with money line -260 and the odds on UCLA to win the Las Vegas Bowl are listed as +220. Keep in mind that UCLA is 12-5 against the spread in its last 17 games, but 1-4 SU in its last 5 games. BYU is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games and total has gone UNDER in 6 of UCLA's last 7 games.

The fact that UCLA will play the Las Vegas Bowl under interim coach DeWayne Walker, after Dorrell was fired at the end of the season, is not the only factor working against the Bruins. A long list of injured UCLA players contribute to the underdog odds, including quarterbacks Pat Cowan and Ben Olson, wide receiver Gavin Ketchum, linebackers John Hale and Shawn Oatis, defensive end Nikola Dragovic and many more. Meanwhile BYU will play the bowl game without safeties David Tafuna, Quinn Gooch, Dustin Gabriel and DT Russell Tialavea. Brigham Young is also edging UCLA on all stats, including total offense with 466.2 yards for 31.2 points per game, compared to the Bruins posting 346.4 yards for 22.9 points on average. The BYU defense is only allowing 317.2 yards for 18.8 points and the UCLA defense allows 365.8 yards for 22.8 points. Overall, BYU shoudl have no problem covering the -7 point spread against UCLA on Saturday. The Las Vegas Bowl game starts at 8:00pm EST from Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
