NFL playoffs:
Packers and Patriots still big favorites, injuries
Even though the odds have
changed, the Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots
remain big favorite to win in the NFL playoffs.
A
few hours away from the start of the NFL playoffs this weekend
and we take a final look at the Saturday games Seattle Seahawks
vs. Green Bay Packers and the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New
England Patriots. Despite the odds on the NFL playoffs changing
over the week, both Green Bay and New England remain big
favorites to win their respective divisional games. At the
online sportsbook
Bodog Sports (live betting
available), the point spread on the Seahawks - Packers game is
now sitting at -7.5 points chalk Green Bay. Small change,
considering the opening spread was favoring the Packers -8
points. A look at the point spread on the Jaguars - Patriots
game and New England is now -13 points favorite, while the
opening spread started at -12 points chalk the Pats. The Packers
remain with odds 19/10 to win the NFC Championship, the Seahawks
are sitting with underdog odds of 7/1 to win the division.
Meanwhile the Patriots are favorite with odds 4/9 to win the
AFC, Jaguars odds to win the division are posted at 7/1.
Quick look at the injuries reported before
the game, Seattle is in a better position this weekend than a
few days ago. Seahawks wide receiver D.J. Hackett is the only
player remaining questionable for the NFL playoffs, while
running back Shaun Alexander, wide receiver Deion Branch,
quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, linebackers Kevin Bentley and Niko
Koutouvides, defensive tackle Rocky Bernard and defensive end
Patrick Kerney have all been upgraded to probable for the NFL
playoffs. Meanwhile in Green Bay cornerback Will Blackmon
remains questionable with foot injury, while wide receivers Greg
Jennings and Koren Robinson, linebacker Nick Barnett, defensive
tackle Corey Williams and cornerback Charles Woodson have been
upgraded to probable for the NFL divisional playoff game on
Saturday.
Meanwhile for the Jacksonville - New
England NFL playoff game things don't look so good for the
Patriots. In the Jaguars camp only linebacker Mike Peterson was
confirmed out for the NFL playoffs with hand injury and wide
receiver Reggie Williams, along with defensive tackles John
Henderson and Grady Jackson are now listed as probable for the
divisional playoff game against the Patriots. But the New
England Patriots now have a long list of players questionable
for the NFL playoffs Saturday, including running back Kyle Eckel,
safeties Willie Andrews and Rodney Harrison, tight ends Kyle
Brady and Stephen Spach, and two cornerbacks Ellis Hobbs and
Antwain Spann. Fortunately for the Pats fans, quarterback Tom
Brady has been upgraded to probable for the NFL playoffs on
Saturday.
