arrested on three drug charges in Arizona
Rapper Lil Wayne was arrested
on three felony drug charges on Wednesday at a checkpoint in
Arizona.

Lil' Wayne (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) has been
arrested earlier today on three counts of felony drug possession
in Arizona. According to reports, the charter bus of Lil Wayne
was stopped at a checkpoint in south-western Arizona and federal
agents said they found illegal drugs in the bus, including
cocaine. He is facing felony charges of possession of dangerous
drugs, narcotics and drug paraphernalia, after a canine unit
indicated the presence of the drugs. A search yielded over 100
grams of marijuana, just over an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of
Ecstacy and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and DEA agents then
arrested Lil Wayne and took him to the Yuma County Sheriff's
jail.
The authorities also recovered a .40-caliber pistol
registered to Carter, who has a concealed weapons permit in
Florida. Police is looking into whether he violated any weapons
laws in Arizona. According to an attorney for the rap star, Lil'
Wayne has not been formally charged yet, and a court session has
been scheduled for January 25th. Lil Wayne's bond is currently
posted at $10,000 and he is expected to pay out shortly.
