"New Kids on the
Block" reunion or not?
The Internet is on fire with
the latest rumor of "New Kids on the Block" getting back
together, but is it true?
When
there is a rumor, we are always on it, as odds could eventually
pop up on it. The latest "news" to hit the Internet like a ton
of brick is that the "New Kids on the Block" are getting back
together for a reunion and maybe a new album. The gossip started
as the website of the former boy-band phenom was brought back to
live and People magazine claimed NKOTB is preparing a new album.
Is it true? Probably not. It has been over 14 years since New
Kids on the Block broke the money-making machine the band was
and every one of the NKOTB members went on their separate way.
And former member Danny Wood wrote the
following on his blog: "I wanted to address the rumors of the
NKOTB Reunion Tour. There has been no talk of this and you are
getting it from source directly. Never say never, and you can't
believe everything you read. On another note my solo record will
be released in Australia in March. There are a few new songs on
it and I hope you guys will check it out." Pushing his own
album, Danny clearly denies any upcoming "New Kids on the Block"
reunion, so, sorry to all NKOTB fans, but it seems it won't
happen. We will continue to monitor the rumor, there are a
couple of sportsbooks interested in offering betting odds on a
future reunion of the boy-band, granted the rumors continue to
circulate.
