Miami Dolphins
cut nine: Trent Green, Marty Booker and more
Miami Dolphins shake up, nine
players cut, quarterback Trent Green, wide receiver Marty Booker
and more.
The
Miami Dolphins have cut nine players, the biggest shake-up since
Bill Parcells took over the NFL franchise's affairs. Quarterback
Trent Green, wide receiver Marty Booker, tackle L.J. Shelton,
defensive tackle Keith Traylor, tackle Anthony Alabi, defensive
tackle Anthony Bryant, tackle Marion Dukes, defensive tackle
Marquay Love and tackle Joe Toledo were the nine players
released by the Dolphins on Monday. The Dolphins, once holding
the record for most games won in the season, finished the last
with 1-15 record and big changes have been expected since Bill
Parcells joined the team.
"This is never easy, especially since all
of these players worked hard during their tenure here. In the
case of each of the veterans, it's especially difficult to
release players who have been productive and valued members of
the organization. However, we feel these decisions are in the
best interest of the team. I want to thank all of them for their
contributions to the Dolphins and wish them good luck," new
Miami Dolphins' general manager Jeff Ireland commented.
