UFC 82 Results: Silva beats Henderson and more

UFC 82 Results: Silva beats Henderson and more MMA fighter Anderson Silva won the UFC 82 fight against Dan Henderson with a rear-naked choke last night in Ohio to claim middleweight mixed martial arts supremacy. The match started good for the former Pride title-holder with all three judges giving the first round to Henderson. But in the second round Silva came out much more aggressive, both fighters exchanging a barrage of punches, but in the final seconds of the Round 2, Anderson Silva sank in a rear-naked choke and Dan Henderson tap at 4:52 into the round. The victory of Anderson Silva was no surprise, at least for the bookmakers. The UFC 82 odds at the online sportsbook BodogLife had Silva -160 favorite to win the fight and Henderson was +130 underdog. "Anderson Silva is pound-for-pound the best fighter in the world. Anybody who tries to debate that is out of their mind," UFC president Dana White said after the fight results. Silva is now 6-0 in the UFC.

The surprise of the last night UFC 82 results came in the other main event, where underdog Heath "The Texas Crazy Horse" Herring won a split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29) against Cheick Kongo in a rather boring heavyweight bout. Heath Herring was +160 underdog at BodogLife, where Kongo was -200 favorite to win the UFC 82 fight.
