Atlanta Falcons
sign running back Michael Turner
The
Atlanta Flacons signed on Sunday running back Michael Turner,
considered the most valuable available RB in the free agency.
Turner was signed on a 6-year contract, although payment details
were not available at press time. Michael Turner comes from San
Diego, where the running back was backing up LaDainian
Tomlinson. Turner Turner had 228 carries for 1,257 yards and six
touchdowns in four seasons with San Diego. With the Falcons he
is expected to get more play time and rumors of possible release
of veteran tailback Warrick Dunn already circulate the Net.
Also on Sunday the Atlanta Falcons
signed tight end Ben Hartsock from Tennessee as an unrestricted
free agent. Hartsock has 24 receptions for 247 yards in his
total of 45 career games, 12 receptions for 138 yards of them
with the Titans last season. The Atlanta Falcons remain one of
the underdogs to win the next year's Super Bowl with odds 125/1
at the online bookmaker
BodogLife. The Chargers odds
are 20/1 and the Titans are sitting on 35/1.
