FA Cup: Manchester United loses to Portsmouth 0-1

FA Cup: Manchester United loses to Portsmouth 0-1 In a dramatic quarter-final FA Cup battle Portsmouth ended the participation of Manchester United with 0-1 victory. With only 12 minutes left on the clock, Sulley Muntari scored the winning goal from the penalty marker, after Milan Baros was upended by United's substitute keeper Tomasz Kuszczak. The Manchester United goal keeper, who replaced van der Sar at half-time, was sent off and Rio Ferdinand took over. United went all in to score an equalizer, but Muntari's goal was good enough to give Portsmouth the FA Cup quarter-final victory and send Manchester United home, disappointing thousands of punters worldwide.

Following Portsmouth's FA Cup victory, the U.K. bookmaker Bet365 quickly adjusted the odds on the Cup's antepost and Portsmouth are now second in odds to win the FA Cup at 11/4, behind only Chelsea at 8/11. Middlesbrough is sitting on odds 11/2, followed by West Brom at 10/1.

Later on today Chelsea is visiting Barnsley in the other Saturday FA Cup quarter-final game and the Blues naturally are the favorite with odds to win the match of 1.28, while Barnsley will pay out on 12.00 if they win. On Sunday is the other set of FA Cup games, Middlesbrough is welcoming Cardiff and West Brom will pay a visit to Bristol Rovers. Middlesbrough are 1.66 favorite and West Brom hold odds of 2.00 to beat Bristol Rovers (3.75).
