American Idol:
David Cook taken to hospital after the show
American
Idol contestant David Cook delivered a great performance last
night, but also scare his many fans when he had to be taken to
the hospital after the show for what appears to be heart
palpitations and high blood pressure. According to some reports,
David Cook felt ill throughout the entire day, but managed to go
on stage and did a great job. But after his song was over, Cook
was taken to the hospital by a car, not by an ambulance as some
reports indicated earlier. According to TMZ, the reason David
Cook had to be rushed to the hospital had to do with the great
deal of stress the American Idol is under, as his brother, Adam
Cook, is currently battling cancer and suffered a setback within
the last week. David Cook was treated with blood pressure
medications and was released from the hospital shortly after he
arrived. Last night David Cook did a great job singing Dolly
Patron's "Little Sparrow" on the show but was later absent from
the line-up when all the contestants returned to watch a
performance by last year's winner Jordin Sparks and later we
learned about his short visit to the hospital.
Despite the setback, David Cook remains
one of the top favorites to win American Idol, listed with odds
11/5 at the online bookmaker
BodogLife. The favorite to win
the talent show remains David Archuleta with odds 6/5. Archuleta
sang "Smokey Mountain Memories" on Dolly Parton night and
stunned the public and the judges. American Idol underdog is
still Kristy Lee Cook, who sang "Coat of Many Colors" and is
holding the odds 100/1 to win.
