Marlee Matlin
voted off "Dancing with the Stars"
Another celebrity bites the dust at the elimination round
of "Dancing with the Stars", Marlee Matlin was voted off the
show on Tuesday. The actress lost her timing at various points
during her mambo on Monday and Marlee Matlin with professional
partner Fabian Sanchez got just 21 points out of 30 possible
after the "Dancing with the Stars" results were announced on
Tuesday. After combining the judges' scores and the public
votes, Marlee Matlin was eliminated from Dancing with the Stars.
"You know what? All I can say is thank you to the judges. I
have the utmost respect for you and I want to thank the most
magnificent Fabian for giving me the most beautiful art of dance
in my life," Marlee Matlin said after she learned the
results. The fact that Matlin was voted off Dancing with the
Stars was a bit shocking, considering she was listed with
comfortable odds 16/1 to win the dance competition at the online
sportsbook
BodogSports. Before the results
show, underdog was Marissa Jaret Winokur with odds 60/1. Kristi
Yamaguchi is still the ultimate favorite to win Dancing with the
Stars with odds 7/8, but Jason Taylor is quickly closing in with
odds 7/5.
Tuesday's results show also included a
performance by Ashlee Simpson, who flashed her new engagement
ring as she sang a track called "Boys" from her new "Bittersweet
World" album. The Riverdance Irish step-dancing troupe showed
off their fast footwork, and two more teams of tots took the
floor in the three-week-old "ballroom kids" competition.
