American Idol:
Paula Abdul hearing double Jason Castro
Last
night was the performance part of the American Idol and judge
Paula Abdul managed to leave viewers scratching their heads
after a double-review. Normally, each contestant receives
feedback on their performance as soon as they've finished their
song, but last night the panel decided to go outside of the
usual routine and give their take after all contestants
performed, which proved to be a double-edged sword for Paula
Abdul. When Abdul came to discuss American Idol contestant Jason
Castro, she referred to having heard "two songs" from him,
"Jason, in the first song I loved hearing your lower register
which we never really hear. The second song, I felt like your
usual charm was missing. The two songs sound like you're not
fighting hard enough to get into the top four," Paula Abdul
said to Castro and left everyone wondering what was she talking
about. "Oh my god, I thought you sang twice!" Abdul said
after fellow judge reminded her that only one song had been
performed. The incident has prompted fans to speculate on the
American Idol message boards if the show was scripted or fixed.
The odds makers at the online sportsbook
BodogSports, however, find it
hard to believe that the American Idol is fixed, considering the
odds offered on the contestants. After Tuesday's Neil
Diamond-themed night, David Cook and David Archuleta are in a
dead heat for the American Idol victory - Archuleta is a small
favorite with odds 5/6 and Cook is listed with odds 5/4 to win
the American Idol. Meanwhile the two Paula Abdul reviews helped
Jason Castro none, who is sitting on 20/1 odds. American Idol
contestants Brooke White and Syesha Mercado are the underdogs of
the show sharing 30/1 odds to win.
