Derby Results: Big Brown officially the winner
A
few minutes after viewers saw the Kentucky Derby, the official
results were announced and Big Brown was crowned the winner of
the 2008 Kentucky Derby. Big Brown was the odds favorite to win
the race and after the most exiting two minutes in sports he
became the second Derby contender to win from the outside post
and the fourth favorite to ever win the Kentucky Derby. The
official Kentucky Derby results have Big Brown as the winner and
he is now undefeated in his four races. Clearly a gem and you
can now put a price on him - the $2,000,000 Kentucky Derby
purse.
The official Kentucky Derby results have
Eight Belle as finishing second, almost five lengths behind the
winner Big Brown. Sadly, just after the race was over, Eight
Belles collapsed on the track. Minutes later it was announced
that the only filly racing at the Derby had broken both front
ankles and was euthanized almost immediately. According to
officials, there was nothing that could be done for Eight Belles
but put her out of her misery. A very unfortunate turn of
events, indeed, not only for owner Rick Porter and trainer Larry
Jones, but for the horse-racing enthusiasts all over the world
watching the Kentucky Derby. After the Kentucky Derby results
were announced, we found out that Denis of Cork finished third
in the 134th Run for the Roses. For full details and to watch a
