Weather Channel
Scandal: Hillary Andrews wins against Bob Stokes
The
sexual harassment scandal which rocked the Weather Channel is
coming to an end, after Hillary Andrews won her lawsuit against
the channel and Bob Stokes. The 38-year-old former anchor, who
left the company and now works for CNN, filed the lawsuit
against the Weather Channel alleging sexual harassment by
co-anchor Bob Stokes. The details of the lawsuit remain closed
to public eye, but leaked court documents reveal that her
co-anchor bombarded her with sexually suggestive comments
including the now (in)famous "Will you lick my swizzle
stick?" Reports claim that in the lawsuit Hillary Andrews
claims Bob Stoke also followed her to the women dressing room
and making crude sexual remarks when they were alone. Andrews
said when she complained to bosses at the Weather Channel she
was reassigned to an overnight shift. She claimed Bob Stokes
kept his job because he was popular with viewers and scored high
ratings. Bob Stokes was eventually fired in February after an
employment tribunal ruled that Hillary Andrews had been subject
to "severe and pervasive" sexual harassment.
The court ruling in the Weather Channel
sexual harassment scandal was 17-page long, but the channel is
trying to keep the ruling private. Meanwhile Hillary Andrews
want the sex scandal court ruling to be made public so she can
sue Stokes for personal damages. At this time it remains unknown
what Andrews won with the lawsuit. Who would have thought the
Weather Channel could be a part of a sex scandal...
