2008 Belmont
Stakes Odds: Big Brown huge favorite again
More
than two weeks until the start of the 2008 Belmont Stakes, the
third and final leg of the Triple Crown, but the odds makers
waste no time to get action. The online sportsbook
BodogSports published their
betting odds on the 2008 Belmont Stakes and it's hardly a
surprise that Big Brown is the ultimate favorite to win the
race. The odds on Big Brown to win the Belmont Stakes are 2/7
(meaning you have to bet 7 to win just 2). Casino Drive will be
his main competitor at the Belmont Park this year, holding odds
to challenge Big Brown and win the Belmont Stakes at 9/2 ( you'd
win 9 for every 2 risked).
In the Belmont Stakes odds Casino Drive
is followed by two Kentucky Derby contenders - Denis Of Cork
with odds 12/1 to win the Belmont and Tale Of Ekati at 20/1.
Behindatthebar holds odds 25/1 to win the Belmont Stakes, after
withdrawing from the Preakness due to fever and the rest of the
2008 Belmont Stakes contenders pay on the whopping 50/1 odds.
Following Big Brown's performance in the first two legs of the
Triple Crown, the odds that he would actually win the Triple
Crown chase were significantly cut and are now at -350 favorite.
Keep in mind that if the oddsmakers see little action on the
short Big Brown odds, they will pull out Belmont Stakes odds
without this 3-year-old freak of nature, exactly what happened
in the last days before the Preakness. As usual, we will take an
indebt look at the top contenders at the Belmont Stakes in a
separate article, stay with us for the latest Belmont Stakes
odds and news.
