2008 Eurovision
Results: Second semi-final results
The
results of the second semi-final of 2008 Eurovision song contest
are out and now we know the remaining ten countries that will
compete on the final. The ten countries chosen by the voters on
Thursday to continue to the Eurovision finals are Ukraine,
Croatia, Albania, Iceland, Georgia, Denmark, Sweden, Latvia,
Turkey and Portugal. Much less voting this year, considering
that from the countries already performing on the first
semi-final only Serbia, France and the United Kingdom were
allowed to vote in the second Eurovision semi-final. Quite a
surprise was the fact that Bulgaria, one of the favourite
countries to win Eurovision 2008, did not qualify for the song
contests finals. Bulgaria was 1/8 to be one of the top ten
countries in the last night's Eurovision semi-final at the
British online bookmaker
Bet 365.
Following the results of the Eurovision
second semi-final, Russia remains the top favourite to win the
song contest with odds 5/2, followed by Ukraine with odds 11/4.
Sweden is now in the third spot with odds to win the Eurovision
2008 listed at 13/2, then Greece at 71/ Serbia has been
downgraded all the way to the fifth best in odds at 8/1 to win
