Bill Murray 's wife, Jennifer Butler, files for divorce, claims abuse Bill Murray's marriage is going down the drain, after reports surfaced that his wife Jennifer Butler has filed for a divorce from the actor. According to the reports, Jennifer Butler Murray filed the divorce papers in Charleston, South Carolina citing as reasons for the failing marriage drug addiction, domestic abuse as well as infidelity. She has also taken out a restraining order against Bill Murray.

According to court documents, Jennifer Butler is also detailing and incident in which Bill Murray hit her in the face. Jennifer Butler and their four children moved into the Sullivan Island's home in 2006 due to Bill's "adultery, addiction to marijuana and alcohol, abusive behavior, physical abuse, sexual addictions and frequent abandonment." She is also seeking a restraining order prohibiting Bill Murray from entering the Sullivan Island home. Under the Bill and Jennifer Butler Murray prenuptial agreement, Jennifer would get $7 million but no alimony or child support. She is asking the court to determine whether their prenuptial agreement is valid and enforceable.
