Tatum O’Neil arrested for allegedly buying crack cocaine Oscar winning actress Tatum O'Neil has been arrested in New York for allegedly trying to buy crack and cocaine, it was reported today. The arrest of Tatum O'Neil occurred in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, where the police was conducting an operation to clean up the area from drug dealers. According to reports, when approached by the police, Tatum O'Neil asked "Do you know who I am?" and then tried to wiggle her way out of the situation by claiming she was doing a research for an upcoming role as a junkie. The cops, however, booked the actress and charged her with criminal possession of a controlled substance, after finding a crack pipe on her, as well.

Tatum O'Neil was married to tennis star John McEnroe from 1986 until their divorce in 1992. Drug addiction has plagued the actress for a long time, resulting in McEnroe obtaining custody of their three children in 1998. In her autobiography, A Paper Life, Tatum O'Neal details her own heroin addiction and its effects on her relationship with her children. In 1996 O'Neil went through a drug rehab, which led many to believe she finally managed to kick off the evil habit. Her arrest, however, now points otherwise.
