Hot Dog Eating Contest Odds: Takeru Kobayashi big underdog

Hot Dog Eating Contest Odds: Takeru Kobayashi big underdog It's the 4th of July and over 2 million people will tune the tube today to the Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest shown live on ESPN. The interest in the hot dog eating contest has spilled over to the bookmakers, which offer odds on the winner for fifth year in a row, to the point where the odds on the hot dog eating contest had to be changed. At the online sportsbook BodogSports the favorite is still American Joey Chestnut, who is listed with odds 20/29 to win Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest. Just yesterday the former champ was sitting on 4/5 odds, but the enormous interest in the hot dog eating contest betting had driven his odds to the short 20/29.

Meanwhile Japanese competitive food eater Takeru Kobayashi is the underdog with odds on winning Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest at 23/20. The seven-time hot dog eating contest winner was listed yesterday with odds 20/21, quite close to Chestnut, but lack of interest has led to bookies downgrading Takeru Kobayashi. The rest of the Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest contenders pay out on 7/2 field odds. The 2008 Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest is scheduled for July 4th, 2008 at 12 p.m. EST. It will be televised live on ESPN.
